Biography

Jason Hurns earned his Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from San Bernardino Valley College located in San Bernardino, CA . Subsequently, while studying economics at The University of Houston, Hurns received training under Coach Tom Penders as a member of the Houston Cougars Men’s Basketball Team. In addition to that, Jason would transfer to Texas Southern University to obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the College of Liberal Arts & Behavioral Science with a Minor in History. Hurns would cross paths with Senator Rodney Ellis of 13th District, state of Texas. He received an invitation to apply for the Texas Legislative Internship Program, also known as (TLIP). Shortly after being accepted into the program, Hurns would join the Collegiate 100 Black Men of America, Texas Southern University Chapter. Becoming a part of the organization not only refined him, but polished and sharpened him into the man he is today.

Jason then started an organization that would concentrate on the academic, physical and mental growth of the youth. “Not only a basketball program…,” he would say, ”…but a program that targets the inner-self to stimulate self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth.” The most valuable aspect of his organization was based on implementing the importance of teamwork. Jason would name the program I
Y AMM, which is a statement;

I’ve Yet Accomplished My Meaning.
